Two Cubes.

The task was to make 80x80x80 cubes. One score cut and one made of indivudual pieces. The most difficult aspect of these cubes was determining the length of each side to be cut (precicely) as we had to consider the thickness of the material. I actually found this really fun.
Replicated Object.

Along with David and Sarrah Mae, we attempted to replicate this olympus camera. The most difficult part of its construction was trying to model the different levels presented by the camera's bubbly form (which it had been moulded).
Sectional model of my house

This is a 1:50 sectional model of my house. I chose to do the front part as i thought it contained the most interesting circulation and features (in particular, the carport). I think what I could have done better is some of the joints, as some door openings were done as seperate parts - where as they could have been done as a singular element.
Transformation.
Stage One - Slicing

I thought that slicing and seperating would be a good concept to throw into this house . I started by slicing my balsa model of it at angles to make them feel as if they are flaring out. My intention was to form a building which threw itself off a cantilever.

The start of contours using core flute.
Stage Two: Materiality

Experimenting with different materials to do the wrapping of solids. Includes foamcore, core flute, black card. The reason I have been using black for this is because i want the solids wrapping the building to feel as though they emerge from the landscape.
Stage Three: Wrapping

Working Progress of solids. Had to still glue rooff as a space down on the first and second floors of my product. Also needed to find a material to compliment the black card solids (as I felt it was too raw). Settled with a transparent plastic sheet to make similar solids.

Final:

I am pleased with the results of my final model of transformative actions, though there are alot of things that could have been done better. The contours of core flute turned out alot messier than I thought, so there are few glue stains on it. the plastic sheets sould have also been glued better as the glue stains can also be seen. I think maybe some parts of the 'slicing and separating' may have been overcooked, and I could have pulled back abit on it.
